I'm impressed with not only the manner and technique of the work, but also the seemingly careful relationships represented from our world into theirs. Beautiful storytelling...

I am not sure what some of these stories are about but all kinds of things come into my head at once when I look at the painting of Invaders for example. Not a bad way to go off daydreaming for a while.

Great new site Robert, a really great medium to show off your extraordinary work (love the bees). The detail and expression in your paintings is truly stunning, I'm looking forward to seeing more. . .

Your rabbits and bears seem to know exactly what is going on in the world. We don't seem to be looking at them. They seem to be sharing their world.

I love "The Embrace".. I would look at it every night when we would walk past it when we were in Lahaina last Oct 2007. Just ordered some note cards.

When I was in Lake Tahoe last week, I did not discover Bissel's Bunny and Bear painting in Goddard gallery until
I was on my way to the airport to leave. I searched for days to find hs work and finally (much to my relief) I located it. I'm so happy. I love your work

Hi Robert,
We love your new website. Even more exciting to us is living with your wonderful animals! We have four of them together now (with 'The Overlook' still in our other home on Maui) and now our home feels complete! After adding 'The Observers' to 'The Secret', 'The Recalcitrant' and 'The Rapture'. The bears are so happy to be with all the rabbits, and a couple of cows we have in another painting called 'Mutual Curiosity' by Curtis Wilson Cost. All the animals are in great company! We look forward to seeing you in San Francisco in October to see what you are up to now. Enjoy your Summer and life in general!
Your friends,
Dyann & 'Wild' Bill

"You probably hear it all the time, but I just wanted to drop you an email about how much 'The Embrace' moved me. I don't understand why and can't explain it as animals are not my usual preference, but something in that painting spoke to me."
